North Salt Lake, Utah, June 18, 2007 Orbit is pleased to announce the launch of the next generation of its Orbitionline.com consumer website that delivers improved look and feel, enhanced functionality and a consumer-orientation that will provide a positive experience for all Orbit customers. The site is compilation of work from IT and Marketing departments and Crowell Advertising Agency.
Design and Navigation
The home page and entire site received a new clean design with crisp colors that evoke a calming mood. The home page features a new product section and emphasizes areas of interest such as timer tutorials, support and the sprinkler designer. Navigation bars located on the left and top of the page help you find your way around the site and organize information for quick access.
Slide Switch Timer Tutorial
A Flash based timer tutorial takes you step by step through programming your slide switch timer. The tutorial has an easy to use menu that allows you to jump directly to the section you are trouble shooting or just start from the beginning and follow along with your own timer. But watch out this feature requires the new Flash Plug-in for your web browser!
Streaming Video
Orbit’s Installation video has been converted to Flash and is now streaming on the web site. That means no upfront lengthy download times; it downloads while you are watching it! The new Flash plug-in is also required to view the video.
Enhanced Search Function
Search for a product or information by entering the part number or key word. Multiple items are generated to help you find just what you’re looking for. Each time you search and click on a link the Search learns and assigns ranking to those terms. So the next time that search term is used the more relevant pages will be listed first!
Products
The products pages offer information about WaterMaster, DripMaster, SunMate, and Arizona Mist products with full descriptions, manuals and guides, specifications, additional photos, where to buy, and testimonials where applicable. This section has the most comprehensive information of Orbit products available.
Comprehensive Support
The support pages include information on where to buy products, frequently asked questions, tutorials, videos, installation guides, and conservation resources. If you need help with a product, come to this section first.
New Functionalities
Also new on this website is the ability to forward a page of the web site by e-mail or create a PDF of a page to save for future reference. Check it out and give us your feedback using the new feedback form on the web site!
